What to wear at your session?

Here are a few things to consider when planning your outfit for your session with your pet:

1️⃣ Comfort is #1

You are there with your pup or cat so comfort is always super important! You wanna be able to run around with your pet and have a good time and be comfortable.

2️⃣ Consider the backdrop and the season

Neutrals and warmer colours can pair beautifully in the fall and with the warm tones on the trails here in the Okanagan. Brighter fun colours and relaxed choices like sandals work wonderfully in the summer especially at beach sessions.

3️⃣ Coordinate outfits, but don’t be matchy matchy

If you are joined by other people in the session with your pet, choose complementary patterns and colours to each other, but definitely don’t all wear matchy matchy outfits as you can blend into each other in group photos. Adding different textures can be a great choice, especially in the Fall and cooler months when you can add layers like sweaters or jackets.

4️⃣ Have your outfit fit the location

Shorts, sandals, bare feet, and flowy dresses are amazing at the beach, but might not be the right look in an urban setting. And boots, jeans, and sweaters can look awesome on the trails.

5️⃣ Love what you wear

Make sure when you pick your outfit that you choose something that looks like you and your style. Don’t wear something only because you think it will look good in photos - pick an outfit that you are going to look back on and know that was your style at that time and it looks like you.
